This Chunky Mantel Beam/Shelf is manufactured from solid pine and is not a box construction
They are finished with heavily distressed edges (see photos) and also have some surface distressing, they have a Matt Lacquer old wood finish
The beans will also have some cracks and skakes to add to their overall character
These Mantel Beams are intended for fitting over a brick or stone built fireplace but will look equally as good when fitted over smooth plastered pillars as seen in the photos
These Chunky Mantel Beams are manufactured in Pine only but can be custom made to customer specified sizes
